A better way to collect design files
By Siddheshwar • 04.Feb.2025
As a UI designer, I'm constantly surrounded by inspiration — cool UI patterns, stunning color palettes, and clever animations. But keeping track of all these ideas? That's a challenge.
I used to save bits and pieces on Dribbble, Pinterest, and random folders. When I actually needed something, I'd spend forever searching for it. Frustrating, inefficient, and a waste of creative energy.
Then I found Eagle, and it completely changed my workflow.
What is Eagle?
Eagle is a productivity app for creative professionals to collect, organize, and manage visual assets. Think of it as a digital library for everything from images and videos to fonts and audio files.
Key features:
- Manage various file types (images, videos, 3D models, fonts)
- Smart folders & tags for organization
- Advanced search by keywords, colors, or file types
- Browser extension to save inspiration with one click
- Cross-platform (macOS and Windows)
My Workflow
Capturing inspiration is effortless. When I see something interesting — a color scheme from a website, a UI animation on Dribbble, typography on Pinterest — Eagle's browser extension saves it instantly. One click and it's in my library.
Organizing assets is simple. I created 4 libraries: UI Design, Typography, Icons, and General. Inside each library, I use folders to categorize files. For UI Designs, I have Mobile App, WebApp, and Websites folders.
Finding things fast is the best part. The advanced search lets me search by Color, Title, Note, Tags, or File Type. The color filter is especially useful for finding specific design elements.
Productivity features save hours. Batch processing handles multiple files at once — tagging, renaming, or assigning folders. I can also export entire folders to share with others who don't use Eagle.
Cross-platform access is essential. I switch between macOS and Windows, so having my library available on both platforms is crucial. I keep the Eagle Source File in iCloud Drive for automatic backup.
Why It Works
Before Eagle, I struggled with scattered resources and inconsistent organization. Dribbble and Pinterest were great for discovery but terrible for storage and retrieval.
Eagle solved this by providing a central hub for all my creative resources. It works with all popular file formats, keeping everything in one place. No more multiple tools or separate organizers.
It's not just about storage — it's about enabling creativity. Eagle helps me stay inspired with a curated library, save time with advanced search, and focus on design instead of administrative tasks.
One-Time Purchase
In a world of subscription-based creative tools, Eagle stands out. It's a one-time purchase with lifetime access. Cost-effective and worthwhile, with no recurring fees.
If you're tired of scattered assets and want to organize your creative chaos, give Eagle a try. Visit Eagle's website to learn more and download the app.
